Another piece of evidence that Japanese #videogame developers are completely bonkers: Dragon Quest XI takes around 100 hours to complete. During the game, you can freely (at almost any time) switch between glorious 3D and retro 8-bit 2D graphics. But this is not just some kind of "pixelated filter". They had to design the whole 100 hours long game (all maps, enemies, animations etc.) twice!
